PATNA: With a view to provide vocational training to the educated unemployed in the state, Bihar will set up seven new Industrial Training Institute (ITIs).
The state government is planning to open five new general ITIs and two ITIs for woman in 2009-10, an official release said.
Steel Authority of India Ltd, Bokaro and Indian Railway Electrification Corporation, Patna would set up two more ITIs at Samastipur and Navinagar (Aurangabad) and hand them over to the government.
Bihar at present has a total of 29 ITIs - 22 general and seven for women. The number has increased by 10 in 2007-08 after nine general and one for women was started, the release added.
