Cong for due share for all UPA allies in Bihar seat-sharing

New Delhi, March 02: With seat-sharing talks remaining inconclusive among UPA allies in Bihar, Congress on Monday said "every one should get its due." "All UPA allies should understand that as long as there is no unity and every one gets its due, we cannot bring NDA down to single digit performance from its seat tally in double digit in last Lok Sabha elections," Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee chief Anil Sharma told reporters here. Sharma however said, "It's only a matter of time when the alliance is firmed up as there is no serious problem." Out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, the UPA constituents -- RJD, LJP and Congress -- had won 29 seats while NDA had got just 11. Congress had contested four seats and won three, while LJP won four of eight and RJD 22 of 26 seats. Sources say that LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad are all set to meet in a day or two to give final touches to seat-sharing agreement. Both the leaders have already discussed the issue with Congress leaders separately. "Congress is not asking for seats won either by LJP or RJD. We are asking those seats which the UPA alliance lost last time," Sharma said. He, however, refused to specify the number seats, the party wants to contest saying, "Congress would like to contest the maximum possible seats. I will not tell the number as negotiations are still on."
