Lalu terrorising a particular community, says BJP

Courtsey : The Times Of India

PATNA: State Congress president Anil Kumar Sharma on Sunday charged RJD supremo Lalu Prasad with terrorising a particular community in Bihar by
saying that there would be turbulence if he lost Lok Sabha (LS) elections from Saran and Pataliputra parliamentary constituencies. He said that by issuing such statements Lalu was trying to revive the memories of the age when he was the chief minister of Bihar. Ridiculing the RJD supremo for saying that the Congress would be wiped out in Bihar and neighbouring Uttar Pradesh in the elections, Sharma described Lalu's statement as non-serious and went on to claim that Congress has been revived in Bihar. The BPCC chief said that technically the RJD might be a national party, but its thinking is very narrow. "Lalu is under tremendous pressure as Dalits, Savarns and minority community are keeping away from him. Lalu is at times eulogising Patna Sahib Congress candidate Shekhar Suman and at times criticising him," he pointed out. Sharma also criticised RJD chief for his propaganda that Congress candidate Shekhar Suman is a dummy candidate. "Shekhar Suman is a winning candidate and Lalu would lick dust in Pataliputra constituency," he said. The BPCC chief also took a dig at RJD supremo for his statement that former UP CM Kalyan Singh was responsible for Babri Mosque demolition. "If Kalyan Singh was really responsible for demolition of the mosque, then Lalu should drive away Kalyan from the Fourth Front," he said. Showing the clipping of a Hindi daily which had come out with a news which mentioned that Patna Sahib BJP candidate Shatrughan Sinha had lauded Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray even as some Bihari youths were beaten in Mumbai, he said that Sinha owed an explanation to the people in this regard. BSP candidate from Patna Sahib Ravi Kumar joined the Congress on the occasion and promised to support Congress candidate.
