Anand Shankar appointed Bihar police chief

Patna, July 28 (PTI) Anand Shankar will be the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar.According to a notification issued by the state Home department late last night, Shankar, a 1973 batch IPS officer, would replace incumbent D N Goutam who is due to retire on July 31.The state government had yesterday effected a major administrative overhaul and appointed Anup Mukherjee, a 1974 batch IAS officer, as Chief Secretary of Bihar. Mukherjee would replace R J M Pillai.
