Railway Minister Lalu Prasad says he wants to be a prime minister of India one day."I want to become the prime minister for sure... but I will not quarrel for prime ministership," the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader told Vir Sanghvi in an interview to be broadcast Saturday on NDTV.The minister said there was no doubt that he was a hugely popular man in India."No matter which corner of the country I go ... people always greet me ... oh Lalu, aye Lalu ... It's the greatest of blessings, people love me."Asked how many years he gave himself to he prime minister, Lalu Prasad replied: "Kaun jaanta hai kab kaun kya ban jayega... (Who knows what will happen when.)When Sanghvi persisted, Lalu Prasad said: "We think, keep working, when the opportunity comes, you will become (prime minister).Sanghvi: "Five years ... 10 years?Lalu Prasad: "Haan ban jayenge..." (Yes, I will become.) He went on: "I want to become the prime minister for sure. But I will do that without any quarrel or fuss... The chief judge is our people, our country's people."Lalu Prasad also came down hard on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying: "(He) is junior to me, I know him very well. He is nothing... he is a zero..."Lalu Prasad also asserted that he would have never lost the elections in Bihar if all members of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) had fought the polls together."Yes I lost, but by a thin margin. If all the UPA partners were together, we would not have lost. If an election is conducted now, we will sweep (the elections)."Lalu Prasad also vowed to damage Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for undercutting his base in the Bihar assembly ballot."Mulayam Singh Yadav had damaged me there... and I will ensure there's payback."The RJD leader brushed off the fodder scam issue in which he is accused saying: "That is a frame up... that is pending before the court. That was propaganda against me to tarnish my image, that Lalu Prasad Yadav is so arrogant."
