Two day mega Health Mela was duly inaugurated today morning by Health Minister of Bihar, Mr Chandramohan Rai along with Padamshree Dr Gopal Prasad Sinha and Noted Physician Dr Diwakar Tejaswi at Patna Youth Hostel, near Hotel Maurya, Patna.
The event is organised by local NGO SEWA with the support of many other organization and individuals.
Lauding the efforts of good NGOs, Minister said that the improvement in health of masses is possible only through the supplementary and complementary actions of Govt. and Voluntary agencies.
Todays highlight of the Mela was Baby Show and Health Quiz for school students. Child Specialists Dr (Mrs) Kiran Sharan and Dr A N Thakur were among the judges. Health Quiz was coordinated by Medical Director, International Health Organization, Dr Diwakar Tejaswi. Among 7 participating schools, Red Carpet School was declared first, DAV school second and Patna Collegiate third. SGD Patliputra was ranked close fourth.
Ms Minati Chaklanwis, chief organiser highlighted the efforts of other agencies for making this event a success.
Tomorrow will be painting competition and Health Quiz for College Students.
