Bhagyashree on comeback trail

The "old flame" of actor Salman Khan wants to fall in love with him, again. But Khan's girlfriend Katrina need not worry. It will be love in reel life, not real life.

Bhagyashree, who made her sensational debut in Rajshri Production's blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya way back in 1989, wants to recreate the magic again. The candyfloss romance starring Salman and Bhagyashree was a runaway hit. The petite beauty was only 20 then. Now, 18 years later, she wants some sort of a sequel of the super-hit flick. Ask her about Maine Pyar Kiya and her eyes twinkle. "Are you interested in making 'Maine Pyar Kiya' again?" she asks.

In the city on Saturday to attend the music release function of Bhojpuri film Janam Janam Ke Sath , Bhagyashree told"Any actor will want to work with actor Salman Khan and director Suraj Barjatiya. I have already worked with them. The chemistry was great and the film was an instant hit."

She did not disclose much, but said: "Wait till January. I will give you some good news."

The raw talent, which dawned on the world of acting with Amol Palekar's acclaimed TV serial Kachchi Dhoop in 1987-88, became a heartthrob of millions after the release of "Maine Pyar Kiya". Today, she has "matured" and is the producer of Bhojpuri film Ego Chumma Dede Rajaji .

"Earlier, I had written and directed Uff Amma for a reputed TV channel. Then, I decided to make a film. I opted for a Bhojpuri film because Bhojpur area is rich in culture and people there are down-to-earth," she said.

Talking about Janam Janam Ke Sath , in which she has acted with Manoj Tiwary, Ravi Kishan and Nagma, Bhagyashree said: "This is a lovely film. It will remind you of a Rajshri Productions film."

The svelte actor, who faded into oblivion after Maine Pyar Kiya and acted in highly forgettable films like Quaid Main Hai Bulbul and Humko Diwana Kar Diye , now wants to revive her fortunes in Bhojpuri films. And she might get a comeback vehicle here as her home production Ego Chumma Dede Rajaji stars Manoj Tiwary Mridul and Ravi Kishan, two biggest stars of Bhojpuri films.
