Health minister Chandramohan Rai on Tuesday, while inaugurating the new dialysis unit at the nephrology department of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), said the health department will assist in upgrading all the departments of the IGIMS.
The health department will also make an effort to provide the proposed machines to be set up at the IGIMS which include an incinerator, an MRI and eight dialysis units, said Rai. He also appreciated the services provided by the institute which has lead to the growth of the patients. "The institute in future will include all modern equipment for the treatment of patients and will be considered as one of the best institutions for quality health services.
Deputy leader of Bihar legislative council Ganga Prasad, who was also present on the occasion, said there has been a considerable increase in the number of patients suffering from kidney diseases in the state. He asked the IGIMS authorities to provide their support in treatment and create awareness among the people regarding causes and treatments of kidney diseases, he said. IGIMS acting director Dr A K Singh said the institute is trying to improve day by day. Many modern equipment like the EEG, EMG, autoanalyser and the lithotripter have been set up in the hospital for the benefit of the patients, he said.
