PATNA: An IITian from Bihar Divyanshu Jha has been selected for the prestigious Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program (GSGLP) by Goldman Sachs Foundation and Institute of International Education (IIE) in recognition of his academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and communication skill potential.
The IInd year Computer Science student of IIT, Kanpur, has received a one-time grant of $3000 to be used towards educational expenses. He has also been selected to participate in the week-long meeting of Global Leadership Institute in New York, US, scheduled to be held from July 12-18 this year.
Jha, who has done his schooling from Don Bosco Academy and St Micheal's High School, Patna, has also represented India at the International Physics Olympiad at Singapore in 2006 and won the Bronze Medal for India. He ranked 10th in the IIT JEE-2006.
The GSGLP was established by the Doldman Sachs Foundation in 2001. The program, which is administered by the IIE in partnership with educational organisations in selected countries, conducts annual international competition at over 90 ranked universities in 20 countries.
